“Learning through play" 

Acorns Pre-School is located in Kington St Michael, just outside Chippenham, Wiltshire. Established in 1972, it is a friendly and relaxed Pre-School who provide a happy and safe environment for children to learn.

Our sessions are carefully structured to provide each child with rich and stimulating experiences through play; that encourage children to be imaginative, motivated and challenged.  

 

 

Qualified, Long Serving and Experienced Staff

Acorns Pre-School is run by long standing, experienced and fully qualified staff, male and female, and has a parent management committee.

Acorns Pre-School operate within the Early Years Foundation Stage which is the standard required of Pre-Schools by OFSTED and have received Good OFSTED reports.

Ages

We welcome all children aged from 2 to 5 from Kington St Michael, all surrounding villages and Chippenham in Wiltshire.

Location

We are situated in the rural village of Kington St Michael, North of Chippenham, (close to the M4) and are based at the Village Hall and benefit from a spacious indoor and outdoor play area. 

We have good links with Kington St Michael and Kington Langley Village Schools and Churches.

We have off road parking in the Village Hall Car Park.

 

 

 

 

Opening Times

We are open termly and our operational hours are:

Monday                     9.15am – 1.15pm, including lunch 

Wednesday               9.15am – 1.15pm, including lunch

                                    1.15pm – 2.45pm, Squirrels (for children

                                    starting school the following September)

Thursday                  9.15am – 1.15pm, including lunch

Friday                        9.15am – 2.45pm (can be attended as a

                                    morning, morning and lunch, lunch and

                                    afternoon, afternoon or whole day)

 

Packed lunches must be provided.

 

Doors open at 9am allowing parents a 15 min drop off interval where they can chat to staff if needed before a prompt 9.15am start.

 

Employer’s Vouchers

Nursery vouchers and all other childcare vouchers are accepted and we are registered with a variety of voucher providers including Busy Bees and Care 4, that enables you to pay for your childcare before tax straight from your salary.  This saves both the employee and the employer money.

Free Entitlement Vouchers

From September 2009 all 3-4 year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of free flexibly delivered childcare for 38 weeks of the academic year.  This is available from the term after the child’s third birthday and is paid straight to your chosen care provider.  The government has stipulated that the 15 hours has to be taken over a minimum of 3 days and 12.5 hours over a maximum of 2 days.  Acorns Pre-School cannot charge you any more than the amount of the grant for that time.  A small charge is made to cover the cost of snacks.
